Shri Jain Swetambar Temple, Sivera, Rajasthan

Mulnayak Bhagwan Shri Shri Shantinath seated in padmasana posture at Temple in Sivera, was built in 11th century. It is 25 KM from Sirohi City.

Stone inscriptions reveal that its ancient name of Sivera was Siperak. According to the inscription carved in the temple, the idol was installed on the eighth day of the bright half of the month of Vaishakh in the year 1109 of the Vikram era. This tirth, therefore, belongs to a period prior to the twelfth century and it was renovated many times. A fair is held every year on the fifteenth day of the bright half of the month of Kartik.

The architectural style of the temple is unique and attractive. The idol is a specific example of the ancient art employed. Besides the idol, there are some other ancient idols also in this temple.

सिवेरा के मंदिर में पद्मासन मुद्रा में विराजमान मूलनायक भगवान श्री श्री शांतिनाथ का मंदिर 11वीं शताब्दी में बनाया गया था। यह सिरोही शहर से 25 किमी दूर है।

पत्थर के शिलालेखों से पता चलता है कि सिवेरा का इसका प्राचीन नाम सिपेरक था। मंदिर में खुदे शिलालेख के अनुसार, मूर्ति की स्थापना विक्रम युग के वर्ष 1109 में वैशाख महीने के शुक्ल पक्ष की अष्टमी को की गई थी। इसलिए, यह तीर्थ बारहवीं शताब्दी से पहले के काल का है और इसका कई बार जीर्णोद्धार किया गया था। हर वर्ष कार्तिक माह के शुक्ल पक्ष की पन्द्रहवीं तिथि को मेला लगता है।

मूलनायक तीर्थंकर
श्री शांतिनाथ भगवान, निर्माण वैशाख शुक्ल 8 विक्रम संवत 1109 में हुआ। मंदिर की स्थापत्य शैली अद्वितीय और आकर्षक है। यह मूर्ति नियोजित प्राचीन कला का विशिष्ट उदाहरण है। इस मंदिर में इस मूर्ति के अलावा कुछ अन्य प्राचीन मूर्तियाँ भी हैं।
